Amira* was restricted to working school hours due to being a single parent with no additional support. She also struggled finding work as her understanding of the English language was limited.
Amira’s Work Coach, Victoria Cluderay from Reed-In-Partnership, supported Amira with interview skills and job applications. Amira explained to Victoria that her long-term goal was to become a Teaching Assistant. Victoria was able to refer Amira to Skills Training UK to complete her Level 2 English Function Skills course.
Amira secured a lunchtime Supervisor role at a local school. This was the first step towards reaching her long-term goal of becoming a Teaching Assistant, as she is now due to start Teaching Assistant Training this summer! Amira said:
“I enjoy my role and working with the kids, and appreciate the support from Victoria even after starting work”.
