Restart Scheme
Maria joined the Restart Scheme in Hereford in July 2024. Maria had recently finished her education and was looking for a job – she had never been employed before. Her confidence was low, and she didn’t know what she wanted to do.
Peter Barton from Reed in Partnership was assigned to Maria as her Job Coach. Following their initial meeting, Peter enrolled Maria onto a course designed to help her create an effective CV and cover letter, as well as improving her interview skills.
Maria also took part in a digital skills course where she was given a laptop - this boosted her confidence in her job searching abilities. After attending the workshops and interacting with various individuals, Maria had the confidence to apply for a job recommended by her Job Coach.
Starting her career on a temporary contract as a cleaner, Maria has since secured a permanent role in the same field. The ongoing support from the Restart Scheme is helping her to look for more working hours and potentially switch her career to animal care. Well done Maria!
