6th May 2020 Serco Employment, Skills & Training Services

Have you completed the National Award for SENCOs?
If yes, why don’t you use your Master’s credits and gain a Full Master’s qualification?

Serco Education in partnership with the University of Wolverhampton have developed a Senior Leader Master's Degree Apprenticeship (SLMDA) for SENCOs. This apprenticeship enables SENCOs to study for an MBA and gain the National Award for SEN Co-ordination while completing their studies.

Starting in October 2020, we are offering a fast-track version of the apprenticeship for students that have already successfully completed the National Award for SEN Co-ordination.**

The programme will include face-to-face sessions with online and work-based learning, covering a wide range of management and leadership skills, knowledge, self awareness and behaviours, as well as a work based project, focussing on the SENCO role.

Successful apprentices will achieve:

  • A Master's in Business Administration (MBA) awarded by the University of Wolverhampton.
  • Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership.
  • CMI Chartered Members status.
  • Other benefits include:
  • You will develop the highest skills and knowledge directly relevant to the SENCO profession.
  • Our apprenticeship is approved for levy funding.
  • Gain a full Master's qualification whilst in full time employment.
  • Enjoy student benefits such as retail discounts and reduced council tax.

**The programme content is mapped to the NASENCO Award delivered through the Serco, University of Wolverhampton partnership, if you have completed your NASENCO Award with a different provider the module content will need to be checked through our RPL process.
