Glen worked in security until he was severely injured in a serious traffic accident. He stopped working because of his injuries and wasn’t able to resume security work because of how physically demanding his previous job was. 

Joining the Restart Scheme after unsuccessfully being able to find a new role, Glen was assigned Alex Crowther from Ingeus as his Job Coach.

After speaking to Glen and finding out about his injuries, Alex identified a care training course that he could attend which would be less physically demanding with Embark Learning. On this course, Glen showcased great determination and enjoyment within the care sector. 

Completing the course, Glen was able to secure a role within the care sector, working at Fairway Health care. He has thrived working in care and really enjoys helping people in his newfound career.

Reflecting on his injuries, Glen commented: 

“I literally didn't think I'd be able to work again, because at the time it was really, really painful. And most of the time I was struggling to even walk and now I'm walking like it's nothing and I’m in a much better place.”
