Joining the Restart Scheme, Jordan worked with his Job Coach, Wendy Alderson from Reed in Partnership, to identify courses to get him back into work. Jordan attended employability workshops to help develop his job seeking skills, as well as enrolment onto Sector Routeways, an employability support programme, to help build his social skills.
To help build his confidence, Jordan attended 1 to 1 sessions with Wendy to help with job applications, transferable and interview skills, as well as pathways to achieve his long-term goal of working within IT/Customer Service.
Jordan also attended additional health and wellbeing workshops on anxiety, stress awareness and wellbeing to tackle his confidence. Alongside this, Wendy identified roles for Jordan to apply for that would match his skillset, and helped him with the applications that he was putting forward.
As a result of his hard work, Jordan was able to secure a temporary Christmas job in retail at the Card Factory, working 16 hours a week. Alongside this, Jordan is also volunteering at Pure Gym to gain additional retail experience doing 2 shifts a week, with the possibility of being offered a permanent role. Jordan is also starting an IT course to refresh his previous skillset which will be a great addition to his CV.
