When Annette joined Restart Scheme she was lacking self-confidence and self-esteem having been unemployed for six years. She was reluctant to move from voluntary to paid employment, as well as having a lack of IT Skills and no access to a computer or the internet. Annette’s Job Coach, Samuel Davies from Reed in Partnership, regularly checked in with Annette before and after interviews to help with encouragement and preparation. She also built a strong relationship with Carla, a trainer, who arranged weekly 1-2-1 job searching sessions to improve her confidence and skills with using a computer.

Annette secured a part-time cleaning role at a local company which was centrally located so Annette could travel there easily. Annette said:

“Joining the Restart Scheme helped me get my confidence back. Everyone was so helpful. The staff from Reed in Partnership worked closely with me to coordinate my needs and helped me find the perfect job and hours for me.”
