Having been dismissed from his previous role, Jason suffered from a loss of confidence and anxiety as his lack of basic IT skills made it difficult to search for jobs online.
So, when he was referred onto the Restart Scheme by the Perry Barr Job Centre, his Job Coach from Ingeus referred Jason to the employment psychologist for support. After which he attended courses to tackle his personal confidence and help him feel more comfortable using a PC.
Having completed the basic IT skills and confidence building workshops, Jason was more ready to begin his job search proper. And subsequently attended a job fair put so he could meet employers and find out about the vacancies on offer.
One role in particular caught Jason’s eye and he successfully applied to join the cleaning team at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. But he panicked when he learnt the pre-requisite induction course had to be completed online as he was still very new to using a PC.
To calm his nerves, Ingeus arranged for him to complete the induction course at the centre so he had people around him that could offer support and keep him motivated. It worked, and over a period of four days, Jason completed the induction and received reassurance that his travel costs would be covered up to his first pay day to help ease his transition back to work.
As part of the Restart Scheme promise, Jason’s Job Coach at Ingenus continues to provide regular support to make sure he is settling well into his new role.
